I am trying to import video from my new Sony DCRHC30 digicam. The import seems to work okay (I see the images in the preview window, etc...) but then the app hangs after the dialog entitled "capturing video" appears.

How cum? It takes Nero about 30-min to encode an hour's worth of .wmv files to VCD format and another 5-10 min to burn the VCD It takes WMM 5-HOURS (that's what it says) to encode .the same files for VCD How cum MicroSoft (author of wmv) needs 5-hours to do what the AfterMarket ...
