is the windows movie maker in vista  and windows movie maker in xp
compatitable.
Im doing a project for my class and i decide to complete it at home, so i
put my videos on a falsh drive, but im not sure if the project i do at home

I know how on the timeline to drag from the ends in to shorten a song.  I am
trying to delete OUT the middle part of a song.  How can I do this - can I do
it in movie maker??  What am I missing??

I have not been able to combine clips in Windows Movie Maker, even though
I've followed the instructions for combining clips exactly as stated. What

I am trying to make a graduation video for my son and have 600 pictures
scanned.  I also have the songs that I want.  I pulled around 20 pictures
down and tied them to a song.  I works great - but I can't tell in the top
collection area which ones have been used.  I don't want to ...

I am running Winwows XP with Movie maker 2.1.4026.0. Video Clips are fine but
when I try & import mp3 audio files I get the message - F:\My
Data\audiofile.mp3 could not be imported. The selected file is not valid or
is corrupted.

my movie maker is giving trouble since i installed adorage effects...
now uninstalled that, but problem is not resolving...
should i reinstall entire windows xp sp 2??
what are the other ways to get my movie maker work correctly....?

Can one import a sequence of images into MM and have them treated as a
'clip'? I can not figure out how to do this.  My files are all in one folder
with names like a_001.bmp, a_002.bmp, a_003.bmp, ..., etc.  Could not see an
explanation for this in the documentation.  Thanks.

I got a problem with moviemaker. we got an asus laptop F5VL and we have
published movies before. but now it won't publish anymore, it gives an error
saying to verify the original source files used in the movie are still
available. that the publishing location is still available, ...

When I try to open Moviemaker the following appears:
moviemk.exe - Application Error
The exception unknown software (0xc06d007e) occurred in the
application at location 0x7c812a5b.

Recently, I am experiencing a white noise "poping" sound at the place between
video clips. Not all "transitions" have the problem, just sporatic. Sometimes
just at the "cut" between and sometimes at a "fade" between. Is this caused
by some audio filter, or transitions "bleeding" ...

The default for stills seems to be 5 seconds.  How can I make them 2 seconds?  
In AutoMovie the length of stills will vary.  Can I control the length when
using AutoMovie?

can someone please help.  I've followed every instruction in the manuals and
examples,  but i can't get the movie maker to detected the vcr.  I've bought
every adapter RCA  makes to connect the vcr.  the instructions sound so
simple"use the blue line-in connector to attach .... ...

I am attempting to edit and save/render a video file for a webinar my company
recently conducted.  I've successfully edited my file. However when I save
it, the estimated time creeps up and up into the hundreds/thousands of
minutes and percentage completion doesn't get past 6% or ...
