I can only add 6 video clips to the timeline, after that, MM crashes.
However... when I restart it, It appears to go directly to the point where I
left off, but I have to start all over again. At LEAST I don't have to import
my videoclips again because they are already saved ...

Windows Movie Maker has lost the ability to capture video from a DV camcorder
in DV-AVI format.  The DV-AVI selection is now grayed out and not available.  
It worked when last used about 1 month ago.  
Rebooting windows does not help.  Windows automatic update is on.   Movie

We have XP-SP2 & MM5.1 running on a Dell D630, and a brand new Canon ZR930,
and can't seem to download the video to our computer.
We have the correct cable. We can link with and control the camera. We are

I have XP with SP2.  MM was starting to crash on me more and more, especially
after adding audio. I followed the advice on papajohn.org to uncheck some
codecs in the MM options. Then crashes seemed less frequent, but after the
