I recently repromoted my Win2003 to a domain controller.  
It also runs DNS.  I can not get one of my computers to
join the domain.  It was once part of the domain before,
I demoted the server.  I kept the same domain name.

If there is no dhcp XP will automatically assign an IP address 169.x.x.x
Is there a way to disable that with an registry key

Currently my system belongs to the domain called
'WORKGROUP', but whenever i try to change my domain
from the system properties and opt to become a member

I have tried dozens of times to get my two computers to
network, but I have had no luck.  I have run the Windows
XP netork wizard (if you want to call it that), but
EVERYTIME I run it, it fails to set up the wizard.  I

I have a small ICS network.  IP addresses are fixed.  
Everything works except IE and Outlook on the ICS HOST.
I can ping DNS servers.  I can ping other web servers by
name or ID.  IE simply returns "Cannot find Page"

I have a soho network of 3 pcs. One running 2000 and 2
running xp. I set up the second xp machine a few weeks
ago. It can see the other two computers and talk to them
happily. The 2000 machine sees the other two and talks to

Are there any known problems with networking 2 or more
computers with differing OS's?  I am running 2000 pro and

I cannot log onto a Windows domain with a Windows XP Pro
