i have 2 computers. One has 98se and the other XP profesional. if i try to copy from 98se (p3 650MHz 128ram) to xp (>p4 2400+ 512ram) it works perfect. The other way aroud it doesn't (max 0.97% of 10mbs). I wrote you brakets for wat i considered that is necesarly to know.

There are three computers on the network. One is a laptop, partitioned fat32. The first desktop is fat32; the second desktop is NTFS. The laptop can see the other fat32 but not the ntfs. The ntfs can see the fat32

Normally DNS and DHCP are associated aren't they? I'm working on a network that doesn't use DHCP and, yet, there are no DNS servers listed. It seems to work. How does it work? There is a WinProxy server that goes to the internet.

Trying to connect 2 Windows XP Pro machines. One of them (machine 1) has a cable modem connected via a network card. There is simple connection with a cross-over cable between the 2 machines. Machine 2 has an internet connection via machine 1.

I have Win XP Pro and put in a D-Link DWL-G520 wireless PCI card. It connects ok and can 'see' my network that is established by my D-Link DI-624 but I cannot get any Internet access from the wireless desktop. The link status and signal strength is at 100%.
