Is there a way to increase the timeout interval or set retries for DHCPDiscover attempts before APIPA takes over. I tried disabling APIPA but that just results in a 0.0.0.0 address instead of a 169.254.n.n. This is for laptops failing to get

I am having this bizzare problem. I just reinstalled windows and upgraded to SP2 on my Presario. I had no wireless problems before (on SP1). I am using a Netgear MA521 card and Netgear WGT624v2 wireless router; again had no problems before SP2 was installed.

I've been using twiga's excellent Remote Disconnection Utility ver 1.1 for my 2-system LAN client/host narrowband dial-up internet connection on XP. Now that I've switched to Broadband, I find it doesn't function as before. Do I need to upgrade it?
