dial-up internet connection, speed dropped from 56 to 33.2?31 Jan 2005 23:41 GMT5
Hello, ever since ive installed SP2 on my WinXP Machine, my internet dials
up at only roughly 33k a sec instead of 56k. Does anyone know why? i dont
really want to uninstall SP2:(

I have 2 PCs, 1 is an HP the other is an eMachine. Both are running XP
home - Non SP2. I have a linksys BEFW11S4 wireless router which the HP
is directly connected to. The eMachine is connected via a linksys
wusb11 wireless network adapter.

I want to redo my home networking system all over again. I believe I may have
put it together wrong. How do I go about deleting/removing  the existing one

I am trying to connect to two subnets in Windows XP Pro, 10.x.x.x  and
192.168.x.x.   I have DHCP on the 192 subnet and have a static IP on  the 10

Windows 2000 fileserver. 2 W2K Pro. 3 XP Pro. My network logon takes 4 or 5
minutes at every client. This network has Cable Internet with a broadband
router. I replaced the router. No change. I can logon to the machine account

This is probably a very basic question, but it's giving me a headache. The
situation is the following:
My home network has two computers, namely "pc1" and "pc3".  Both computers

I have a home office network setup with:
DSL with static IP address
DSL to router/NAT with firewall
router to workstations

I have SP2 installed and what is changed (for the worse) is that when I use
Internet over my LAN in another way than HTTP (streaming video, Windows
Update etc), Windows tries to dial and use a private banking dialup
connection, until I cancel that after which everything works ...

I have Winxp  SP2 installed and connect to an office LAN and Dial-up with a
Laptop.
I have found that if I disconnect the laptop from the cradle (I frequently
roam the office with it) and then reconnect it, all subsequent Internet

I've created a batch file that reads from a parameter file and logs on to the
remote site and does its thing. how can i create a log file ? if i put the  
'>'  symbol on the command line it 's looking there for the logon paramterrs
instead of the parameter file.
