I want to be able to connect one laptop to another with a modem cable and have one of the computers connected to the internet with an ethernet cable so i can have a net connection on both computers. Is this possible. If so how do i set it up?

I'm having a lot of trouble with file and printer sharing in a small home network I have consisting of Windows XP Professional, Windows 98 and Windows 2000 PCs. Some are connected wirelessly others ethernet through a linksys router.

After installing the network, I get a message when shutting down either computer that says Windows is closing the program ccApp. Is this program running in the background a normal part of the network or is there some sort of malware running that shouldn't be there?
