I've got two Xp's running SP2, one's a desktop and one's a laptop. The
desktop is the client and can surf perfectly. The laptop is very slow and
when i try to use msn messenger, it wont connect. I also cant go to

Trying to connect a new Dell computer to a HP computer both running XP Home.  
I successfully set up a linksys wireless network, in which both computers
have internet.  However, the HP Computer would not share a printer or see the
other computer on a network.

OK, after 3 days of trying to do this own my own, I need to do some work.
Therefore, I'll pass this along and see what ya'll think. I have xppro on
"kevin" and xphe on "kids" pc's. Both are sp2. I used the wizards on both to

I just installed a wireless network using a wireless cable/dsl router.
Internet access is via DSL. There are three computers on the network.
The problem computer is an old Dell desktop that was upgraded from
Win98 to XP Home SP2 a couple of years ago. The other two computers are

I am setting up my home network of 4 PCs.
1 Laptop with XP Home, and 3 Desktops with XP Pro.
The networking seems to be OK, altho not fully tested yet.
But my query at the mo is:-

When I try to add a user to a group, I can only see the local machine
when selecting the "locations" button.  The machine is a member of the
domain.  I am logging in as a domain user with admin prives, the DNS
server being pointed to is my domain controller.  Any suggestions?

Hi guys on a system I worked on last week the ping.exe and IPCONFIG tools
were not available from the command window I had to CD to the system32 folder
before they would work. How can I re establish the paths for the command line
