We have a cpu network in a SOHO with 4 DTops, and 2 ocassional Laptops all
running XP - 2 Home, the rest
XP Pro. 4 DT's and 1 LT are part of ONE workgroup. Data exchange, printing,

How can I most simply connect a Windows XP laptop to a Windows 98 desktop? I
do have a Targus USB port replicator with ethernet software, but not sure how

I will warn you off the bat that I am completely new to this and am not too
familiar with a lot of computer jargon.  
Here is my problem:
I set up a home network between my new PC and my old laptop.  I have

With simple file sharing disabled is it possible to share a printer on
an XP Pro computer so that users do not have to enter a user name and
password for access? In other words a printer that is usable to anyone
on the LAN. Should giving access permissions to 'Everyone' work?

In addition I tested each (5) USB ports with my flash drive....they all
responded correctly
