We have two desktops in the house (1 in my room and another in my brother's). We have a cable but how do I set up a network (for printing to my printer and transferring files from one pc to the next? Both pc's have XP home.

one of 7 machines on LAN cannot connect to DNS but can share files on LAN, all other machines can connect. DSL connection, wired LAN with switches. this just started happening and i don't understand. can someone help?
