Hi, i did a quick scan through the group and couldn't find anything similar, so hopefully this hasn't been asked before. I have a Win2000 server as our domain controller, which works great when connecting using Win2000 pro.

Can anyone help me with this? Windows 2000 used to pop a password box for a drive connected to a server in the DMZ. XP doesn't do that so the drive isn't active until the user goes into my computer and clicks on it. Then they enter the password and all is good.

I've recently purchased a new laptop with an OEM copy of XP Home installed. I'd like to install IIS to support my web design work but it doesnt appear to be an option available under XP Home. Do I have to purchase a copy of XP Pro to be able to enable IIS ?

This is so fustrating. Sometimes when I open up Windows Explorer I cannot expand My Network Places. Pressing F5 does nothing. I have to right click on My Network Places, click explore and it opens up a new explorer session with My Network Places expanded.

Just set up a new network for my desktop and laptop. Trying to access files on a 2nd desktop which (unlike the former two) runs Windows 2000, not XP. No matter what I do, I can't get my primary XP desktop to FIND the Windows 2000 desktop on the network. Help!
