Can't get my laptop to connect to  an existing ethernet connection12 Nov 2005 05:28 GMT3
When attempting to connect to a existing ethernet connection I get a
limited conectivity message and cannot access the internet at all.
The laptop I have is a Pavilion zv6000 and runs Windows XP.  I have

We have several Windows XP machines that are acting very strange.  Every
available drive letter is showing "Disconnected Network Drive."  You cannot
disconnect these using the net use command.  You also cannot map any new
drives because there are no available drive letters ...

I must have done something wrong. I'm trying to run SUS but it doesn't

recently put in a phone extension in my house as i  want to use my laptop in
another room , used one of these kits from b&q , problem is , phone works
fine but connection problems and slow games play on laptop any ideas

I've got ICS working on my 2 computers at home, one is xp pro sp2, the other
is xp home sp2. The pro machine is the ics host with a dial up internet
connection. The xp home machine is the client. I've set the tcp/ip settings
on the client machine to "optain ip address automatically" ...

Ok here are the details:
I have an IP address for my router.
Everything looks fine, however, my XP computer will not resolve names. If I
ping www.google.com, I get nothing. If I ping the IP address, it's fine. I

I want to be able to share all my laptop when connected to my home
network but not share when it is connected to another network.
How can I configure this to work automatically, without resetting the
share each time?
