The File-Sharing Network on my XP SP2 Home machines spontaneously revived, but only after I did a lot of fumbling that seems to have affected my ability to compare files of the same name that are shared by two computers.

I have a 2 computer workgroup through a D-Link DI 624c router. All was just fine untill about 2 weeks ago when one machine suddenly stopped being able to access the other in the workgroup. The WAN access never changed and it works fine.

I just had a client call and say his workstations are "acting strangely". If they are set to DHCP they are getting assigned different subnets so they can't communicate. If IP and subnet is entered manually everything is okay.
