I have an icon in "my network places" which refers to an IP address that is no longer valid. whenever I try to delete it, explorer just hangs and I have to kill it with task manager. (a) is there any registry hack or any other way to get rid of it

I have been running two PCs with XP PRO through a Netgear ADSL Router and sharing files with no problem. I have added a (DELL) PC with XP HOME (pre installed) and can't see the home network (although the other two PC PRSs can see, but not access the PC HOME.

My desktop's file-sharing connection with two laptops recently stopped spontaneously, though It still works on the two laptops. All three run Win XP SP2 (Home) and connect directly to the Internet through an ADSL modem and router.

When I run the network diagnostic tool from MS there is a line that states: DHCPServer = 255.255.255.255 (invalid IP Address). How can I change it to the right address which, I believe, should be 255.255.255.0?
