My sister and I want to network our PC's via direct cable. We cannot create a
network connecting into our eth cards, but can do so when we use the network

I am running a 3 station network.  On station 3 I have a 250GB SATA drive (F
drive)that I use for file storage.  This is NOT the system drive.  I can
access files on this drive from stations 1 and 2 but when I try to save
anything to station 3 F drive from station 1 or 2, station ...

I'm new to routers and networking but not to computers in general.
I will be building 2 new computers that I'll need to add to the
network to share the internet connection, files and maybe my printer
and scanner if it can be done.

I just installed a fresh copy of windows xp professional. It's a custom built
pc, so I'm starting with fresh new hardware here.
Heres the stats:
Processor – AMD XP 2600+

Everything used to  be fine -- used to work flawlessly and fast.  I think
(but cannot swear to it) that the following problem started only after
installing XP SP2.
SETUP (home use):

Have a new system running xp(#2).
Have 3 systems(all xp's) on network. #1, #2, #3
When I'm on one of the original systems(#1 or #3) and go to My Network
Places, the folders/files from the old(#2) system still show up.

I'm running a system with Win XP Pro and am trying to establish a network
with two computers running Win XP Home.
We share DSL with a Linksys router.  All three of us can access the 'Net.
On my computer's Network Connections screen, I can see my Shared Documents

I was wondering if there is any way that I can share my addressbook? I was
hoping that I could copy and paste it into the server drive but that doesnt
seem to work.

I'm learning about networking xp home and pro. I've got my computers talking
to each other, but have 1 problem left.
XP Pro does not seem to be able to make a remote desktop connection to XP
Home. although home can make a remote desktop connection to the pro machine.

Somebody please save me from a nervous breakdown:)
