Am trying to netwok a laptop and PC. I have set up the workgroup and can see the links in 'local netwok'. I can even open files from the Laptop but when I try and open the desktop link from the laptop I get a username & pass dialogue box.

I have two servers on a network (no domain), and some of my XP machines do not reconnect to the mapped drives at logon. The user name and passwords are the same on the user machines and the servers.( matching accounts on the servers).
