My PC on my private network was not able to browse the internet until I configured it's TCP with the IP address of the DNS server of my ISP. I should not have had to do this. I think something is wrong with my ICS gateway XP PC. The two PC's cannot ping or net view each other ...

Can someone tell me what ports to open in Windows Firewall to allow access to the Admin$ share? Ever since SP 2 and the latest service packs have been applied, I am unable to access the admin$ share on my network pc's---unless I completely disable windows firewall.

NTP time-synchronization is failing. The "Update Now" button reports that "An error occurred getting the status of the last synchronization. Element not found." The command-line "W32TM /resync" reports that "The computer did not resync because no time data was available."

I have had a network running successfully on two desktop PCs both XP Home SP2, and regularly add a Notebook XP Prof, all via a Belkin 5 port Ethernet network switch, using ICS to broadband USB modem on one of desktops. No problems, IP addresses all 192.168.x.x
