In MSKB and web searches I can't find instructions on how to to do the following. Both computers use XP SP2 with account names and passwords. One computer is connected to an unsecured wireless network.

I have a LAN made up of windows xps and windows 98s. I have statically assigned them IP addresses. I don't want any of them to change their IPs. Is it possible? If not, is it possible to just detect the change of IP address.

I set up a LinkSys wireless network, but my other machine (both running XP) finds it and connects to it intermittently,(every 2 seconds or so. I have WPA Personal encryption on it, and I think it's because the other machine is looking for WEP encryption. How do I change it?
