My windows XP sp2 PC occasionally lost network connection, I have to run ipconfig /registerDNS and the connection to Internet is back. My config as: PC--> Dlink DI614+ router-->DSL modem. Could anyone please explain why this is happening?

Tried to add a third computer to home network. Running XP on new machine and the home network setup. The new machine can see and access the other two computers, but it does not show up on the network and the other computers cannot access the shared folders.

Howdy, I have one XP system on our LAN. If I connect that system to the LAN with Cat5 cable, it immediately gets an IP address assigned, and can browse.

There is a problem with access and permissions with our home netwrok. These are the facts: 1. The home network set up with 2 desktops and 1 laptop. All 3 machines run XP Pro SP2, with the most current build (as of 12-25-05).

I would appreciate help in solving the following problem. The network has stopped working from my Windows XP Tablet PC ed. It is an Averatec C3500 and the router/gateway is D-Link DL-614+. It used to work like a charm, but now, a ping to the gateway fails.
