to a Linksys wireless router via eithernet cable and a notebook using a
wireless connection to the router.
Not sure of the specific technical operation of such a configuration.

desktop computer.( Win. XP) When trying to install the software she is
asked for the NETWORK NAME (also called SSID). It's supposed to be found
in the router paper work which are missing, she only has the original

I am trying to figure out a way to make my Shared Documents viewable to accounts on my computer and not on the network. Is that possible?
Also, is there a way to make the Shared Documents available to someone on the network if they have a password?

So here is the setup. I have comcast cable modem connected to a
desktop. Desktop is connected to a linksys wireless router. I have a
laptop with a wireless card. Simple enough. Has worked fine for several

I was looking at Local area connection status window of my internet  
connection and noticed a picture of a "little" lock(i.e. like a paddle lock)  
on the received side of the ICON.  Can anyone tell what this means? or how
can I change it?  My other PC connected to the same router ...

Whenever I try to log on to my secured wireless network, I have to retype my
security key. Every time I reboot, the security key that is saved changes to
something different and I have to retype the key. Any suggestions?

As an example, if I were to open and close I.E. five times, I would see five

My company have clients that transmit data to us by FTP.
For the vast majority there is no problem, but in some cases the data is not
transmitted. We have tracked this down to the fact that these clients use
ADSL and a router.

I am experiencing an issue with several computers where a drive that is
mapped to a share on another computer normally shows up in My Computer as:
