I have a 4 node xp pro lan.  Recently laptop M lost all its settings and was
replaced with a new Dell laptop.  There is another laptop B, a Desktop
system S and another desktop system being used as a file server for ACT.  I

2 computers - Home / Laptop - Both run WinXP Pro
connected via Ethernet connection
Using Easy File Sharing (workgroups)
Signed on as Administrator on both

I wonder if anyone can assist. I have a laptop that we use to VPN in to
different company sites using microsofts WAN miniport (PPTP), however it will
no longer connect over VPN, the connection always results in an Error 619.

The modem we use to get into the internet,besides a data modem is it also a
voice modem and if yes from where in XP can i crosscheck this.

I installed XP on a new PC last month.  I have an ISDN line and have just
received my 'phone bill for December.  It shows that all connections via
dial-up have been allocated to the wrong MSN (which will take a lot of
untangling!!).

A few days ago, when I booted up my desktop PC I discovered that I had lost
the ability to connect to the Internet and also had lost all networking
capabilities.  My network icons did not show up in the task bar and there
were no network connections in the Network Connections ...

When I connect on the internet, everything works 100 % until at a stage where
the internet gets slower and slower and after a while I cannot open a webpage
at all.  When I look at the properties, I can see that "Sent" is still
active, but "Received" is not getting any bytes at ...

I want to setup a network that has two workgroups 5 computers in one
workgroup need to be able to share data between each other. In the workgroup
there are 4 other PC's that need internet access ONLY. I do NOT want them to
see the shares let alone get access to any shares.

After upgrading a newer  computer to XP and adding it to my workgroup, the
other  computers on the LAN get "Logon failure: user account restricted"
How can I allow my older computers to be on the network?

After many hours of troubleshooting and working with my DSL provider, it was
finally determined that 10 minutes after the PC has been booted, I lose the
