On windowsXP pro (with simple file sharing off), each shared folders have a permission setting and a security settings. They both seem to do the same thing -- permit or deny other users. Doesn't this seem a little redundant?

I set up a workgroup of a few computers running Windows XP Pro and Home Editions at home. One of computers can see all other computers but not itself. Other computers also cannot see this computer. When I enable Network Sharing and Security, below error message pops up.
