I've been using ZoneAlarm free a while now on a single WinXP HE SP2

Seems to do the job ok. Microsoft's firewall is toggled off.

I have the following set-up
2 PC's connected to a router/modem via ethernet cable.
Network created using Network Wizard and overall I have no
problems except:

1 Domain controller running 2k advanced server, domain name=MelSoft
1 XP Pro SP2 w/ all current updates machine participating in domain

If I want to set up file sharing between two XP pro PCs (both are on the
same LAN), would the existense of a unix/sco/linux server (but not a domain
controller) interfere with this in any way? The server is running some
custom accounting app.

I have to computers. One is connected  to network provider,  Two will
be connected  to one.

access to it from within their network. My Home PC is in their network,

Well now explained better my problem:
Others pc in my LAN can see my pc and I can see others, but I can access to
other pc's but others pc can't access to my pc. Also I can do ping
xx.xx.xx.xx to others pc but others pc can't do ping to my pc.
