We are adding a new computer and have transferred the files from a 2000
Server computer to an XP computer over the network.  Once they are on the XP
computer, we cannot open them it says that we do not have permission.

We are adding a new XP computer and copying files over the network from a

network setup wizard on that computer - do you have to however re run the
wizard on every other computer that is already in the network - according to

I'll explain my problem.
I have two computers both running WinXP. They both have a shared folder so
that I can easily transfer files between them.
Everything was going well until I installed SP2 on one of them. Now, the

Sorry for the basic question, but is it possible to connect a Mac and PC
using a standard crossover cable?
Will they speak to each other?  Share Internet?  Or is there an
adapter/patch of some kind required?
