Hope this is the right place to ask this question!
What I want to do is change the time on a XP Machine running IIS and SQL to
test multiple time based scenarios on a web app, however changing a time on
the domain causes all sort of problems.

My desktop and laptop are networked via direct cable connection. In trhe
past have had access to the network.  have reinstalled connections on
both computers and both show connected.   The desktop won't display the
workgroup, and when trying access the workgroup get the message ...

I am wanting to create a user for my XP Professional machine that will
only be able to select network folders.  By this I mean that I am able
to setup users, yes, but each of those users is able to sit down at my
machine and login.  I want a user that ONLY is able to see/edit things
