Yesterday, a Windows 2000 PC went bang so I needed to install a new PC and

I need to know what's the IP address of a computer, just the box
(without a screen, keyboard and mouse), connected to my laptop with a
crossover cable. I've tried an IP scanner, but this could take forever.

Recently reinstalled XP professional on this machine.  I can access other
peer to peer machines, but cannot get to this machine from the others.  I get

I am trying to enable offline files in windows so folders I have on my hard
