In WinXP Pro, I set up a share with my cable modem. It is currently showing "Shared" in the Network Connectionw window I went to Control Panel/Add-Remove Programs/Windows Components and there is no ICS to uninstall.

I have about five PCs at home, all running XP pro. I have them all set up in a workgroup. However, one machine is giving me trouble, It can see alll the other machines in the workgroup, but they can't see it. However, they can see it if they give the IP address. E.g. I can enter:

This happens to me at least once a day and I can't figure out why. I can run an ipconfig /all and it gives me IP information. Also, I go into My Network Places and it shows a connected status but when I go to launch IE I get page can't be displayed. All window and NIC updates ...

I get the error "unable to contact your DHCP server" when I do an ipconfig /renew. I'll get a 169 ip address which I know is wrong. This used to work for months and my laptop will work just fine. So it must be a problem with my desktop. I have WinXP SP2.
