I bought a new computer and I'm trying to use the file transfer wizard to
update my new machine.  I connected both w/ a serial cable.
Eventhough the computers try to connect, they just stay in the "please wait
while the wizard conects to the other computer" for hours...

would be leary of applying unsuported pathces however
This is a handicap, and another example of MS treating the symptoms

Testing an XP SP2 system in a workgroup with a Server 2003 SP1.  I can ping
the server, and and map a drive from the server to the desktop, but not from
the desktop to the server.  Thinking its an authentication issue.  Have
identicle accounts setup on both systems.  Any ideas?

I have an odd scenario that I can't seem to get right.
I have two windows XP boxes in a workgroup- one is acting as a File and
Print Server to offer several distinct shares.  Simple File Sharing has
been disabled on both boxes and all drives are formatted with NTFS.

I have some difficulty when trying to access some computers on the network (
I have administrator privileges).

having a problem with them losing their network connections throughout the

Problem with Windows XP Pro workgroup.
One of the user accidently hit disconnect on map drive, and now that
computer can not reconnect to the workgroup.  I can ping to the "server" IP,
but can not map the network drive.  There is nothing show in the My Network
