I bought a new computer and I'm trying to use the file transfer wizard to update my new machine. I connected both w/ a serial cable. Eventhough the computers try to connect, they just stay in the "please wait while the wizard conects to the other computer" for hours...

Is there a way around the sp2 limit of 10 half open TCP connetions. I would be leary of applying unsuported pathces however This is a handicap, and another example of MS treating the symptoms rather than the cause.

Testing an XP SP2 system in a workgroup with a Server 2003 SP1. I can ping the server, and and map a drive from the server to the desktop, but not from the desktop to the server. Thinking its an authentication issue. Have identicle accounts setup on both systems. Any ideas?

I have an odd scenario that I can't seem to get right. I have two windows XP boxes in a workgroup- one is acting as a File and Print Server to offer several distinct shares. Simple File Sharing has been disabled on both boxes and all drives are formatted with NTFS.

Older Windows XP MCE connected to domains, even after being upgraded to Windows XP MCE 2005. Does anyone know how to make Windows XP MCE 2005 attach to a domain, even if it means disabling MCE 2005 features.

I have some difficulty when trying to access some computers on the network ( I have administrator privileges). For example I can connect to the C drive on computer LRC-Q11 by clicking start -----> Run - typing \\LRC-Q11\c$ and pressing OK.

Problem with Windows XP Pro workgroup. One of the user accidently hit disconnect on map drive, and now that computer can not reconnect to the workgroup. I can ping to the "server" IP, but can not map the network drive. There is nothing show in the My Network
