I'm using a laptop connected to the domain wired, can see everything in the network neighborhood. Once I take the laptop home and connect to the domain via VPN the network neighborhood will not populate and can't browse the domain. WHy?

(See 'Network XP to 98') below. I have tried everything Dr. Helmig suggested, plus changing cables, checking out everything on the 'verify' list and my computer still says "Network cable unplugged". So Nothing Ive tried so far has worked. More suggestions please. Thanks

I have 4 XP Pro's (2 PC's, 2 Laptops) and one 98 PC on a workgroup. All machines can see the other's in the network places, except for one scenario. Lets call one PC XP1, and one Laptop XP2 (both are on Service Pack 2).

My PC has one shared folder, 'Shared Documents', but nobody can access it through the network. From every other PC one receives the error they don't have the permissions to access my PC. All normal windows settings seem to be OK.
