howcome when on 56k dialup, my IP is the same as my default gateway?
(according to windows)

If I view the Laptops Shared Documents folder from the PC it shows up as a

When I try to add a network connection;the only options are my workgroup or
my MSN places;which eventually leads to my shared folder on MSN. Is there a

stating NEW NETWORK FOUND.it shows Gateway MAC id:  ,Gateway IP address,
local IP, what does this mean ? and what may i have done to cause this .
