I have several machines that have an issue using the search function on network drives or network paths. When you click search nothing happens for 10 seconds and then it will search the network drive. This is not the case for all machines.

im sharing an internet connection with another computer, and since the guy who uses the other computer always is downloading things he is cutting down on my internet speed which makes it slow for me to surf the web and makes it impossible to play games over the net.

I have added a few entries into the hosts file, but it doesn't get processed by the system. I have exactly the same file used in a windows 2000 system, and it worked. Where is the problem?

I am having trouble accessing a computer on my network of 5 computers. I have 4 on windows 98 and 1 running XP home edition. I can access all from the XP computer, but the windows 98 computers cannot access the XP computer. Any ideas?
