I would like to know how to configure a network without using DHCP server. Can I use Zeroconfig? If yes, will it support all the OS ( windows, Mac, Linux )? If yes, does windows have any built in function for zeroconfig? or do we have to instal a seperate software for this

A laptop user on my network is broadcasting a SSID for an unsecured computer-to-computer network. He uses the wireless connection while he is on the road, and plugs into the wired network here in the office. I am concerned that he may be providing a bridge into our network.
