I am running XP Home on my laptop. In the command window when enter ipconfig /all, or even without the all, I simple get "Windows IP Configuration" as a response. I used to get the detail. What has changed or what do I need to do to get it back?

I want my laptop to join my home domain, but still be able to access resources at work on a different domain. I do not necessarily want to join that domain, but want to use my home domain profile instead of using a different local profile on the laptop.

My laptop and desk macbine can at last communicate with each other but the laptop (the client) cannot reach the internet. All was fine until the system downloaded updates from Microsoft and installed them -- and then - well, all hell broke loose!

Does pathping send ICMP packets. or does it still send TCP packets, like windows ping does ? What does tracert use ?
