I have an XP Home machine that gives me a dns
error whenever I try to use IE6.  I have tried two
different ways to connect to the Internet: one
through my local lan and two through a dialup

Peer-to-Peer network with 4 computers running XP SP2 shared drives, internet
connection and printers without problems. 5 weeks ago an AIM virus infected
the ICS computer. Now ICS computer does not share drives or printer with
other peers. ICS, however, still works.

I have a windows xp pro system fas host connected to a win ME system via
crossover ethernet cable.
ICS works when I disable the firewall in eTrust  and use only the firewall
integral with XP but I can't get it to work when the eTrust firewall is up.

I have this problem for couple of month now. If i use any kind of media
player (Winamp, DivX, WinMedia) or any application that uses some sort
of media (ie. Cubase) my internet connection stops. It's particularly a
problem for watching streaming videos (YouTube or QuickTime) as the

Our computer was hit with 6 viruses and knocked out the internet connection
with the ethernet card. Now the only internet connection working is the cable
modem connection. The connection right now is a frustratingly slow 28.8 mbps.

I'm running 4 XP Pro workstations. 1 is running double duty as a
workstation and file server. As long as 3 or fewer people are
connected, no problems. However, once the 4th person joins, the file
server machine will lock up 1 to 4 times a day. Suggestions? Thoughts?

I'm trying to set up an FTP site, but nothing seems to be working. I'm
on DSL, behind a Netgear MR814v2 router. I have ports 20,21, and 80
forwarded. I have Windows firewall turned off. I use PC-Cillin 2005 as

I have a laptop and a desktop. I can access internet through my laptop. I use
a network cable( cat 5E crossover cable ) connect them together. This is a
direct connection without any hub. I setup these two computers separately as
