Hi all, I asked this on June 14 and then reposted it a few days later.  I am
still waiting for a reponse.  The basic problem is due to some kind of
corruption above the IP layer in which even though I have a valid IP address,
I am unable to migrate my PC from one wireless network ...

From time to time I've found that shared folders will share OK to another
workgroup PC ... but if it's a folder that's not a pre-existing one (like My
Documents; My Pictures, etc.) ... then the subfolders in that folder will
not be available for sharing ... unless one painstakingly ...

- I have a new laptop with XP SP2 installed. All updates applied etc.

Hi, I have an 80 gig harddrive and it's partitioned into two drives C and D.
The C drive is allocated 20 gigs and the D drive has the rest. My system is a
sony vaios and it was configured this way when I purchased it.  My problem is
this, the C drive is nearly full and I've moved ...

I have setup a home network, a local desktop wired to a router and a laptop
wireless to the router, router is connected to a cable modem. Both run XP
Pro, latest updates. Both are set up for "simple file sharing". Both have
anti-virus & firewall software running (supplied by ISP) ...

Here's a weird one for experienced sysadmins out there.
Company has an old NT 4 network. File server is a Win2000 member server
which has been decommissioned and removed and replaced with a Win2003 member
server. Staff member with modern PC running WinXP Pro complains ever since

I have a home LAN (192.168.1.xx) of WinXP boxes, on which is a device
(linksys music bridge) whose address I've "lost". I'm hoping the "lost"
address is a 192.168.1.xx address, but I'm not even sure of that, see
below. I do have the MAC address of the device.
