Got a HP laptop with Win XP Pro S2, on an AD domain. The problem is when the user logs in at the logon screen it takes about 120 sec for the desktop icons to appear. Wether it be on the network or off the network.

With Win XP, SP2. Can I have 2 ethernet cards and join two different workgroups? I need to get a realtime data from both of these workgroup simultaneously. I do not see a way but I have been getting conflicting answers.

My IE opens and then closes automatically every time. I have done a System Restore, removed and re-installed IE and it still happens. I seem to have an internet connection because my Telus does it's updates okay, I just can't get into websites.

I had to replace a HD and reinstall Windows XP Pro after a HD crash. Windows seems to be working properly now but I can't get a connection to my modem. I'm guessing I missed a step in the set up. Is there a driver I still need to install or something else I've missed?
