When I connect an ethernet cable to my son's laptop the wifi connection
seems to stay on. How can I make sure that adsl goes through the lan and
not through the wireless connection?

We have a client that has a simple file sharing with xp home between 2

Not sure what's going on, but I have a range of IP addresses I can't ping.
They are in the range of 169.254.241.whatever. I try to do a "tracert" and I
can't even ping my local server using that address. Any other addresses seem
