I've seen instructions before to change router mtu setting when there
are problems and I just got advice on changing mtu size in the
registry. It dawned on me to wonder how these settings interact? If the
packet sizes out of windows are bigger than what the router setting

whats going on with microsoft directx. i had version 8 in my computer then i
upgraded to version 9 download.  after the download i looked at it in system
information. then clicked the tools tab. then went to directx diognostic
at the bottom it shows my directx as version 4.9.00 ...

Having problems with Internet Explorer 6. Every time I open a window to
search the web-the pages 'hang' for minutes at a time. Sometimes they don't
open at all. Can anyone help. Its driving me mad. All this technical talk
baffles me.

My client computer can't connect to internet.  Obviously my host computer
can.  I can ping my ISP from the cient computer without problem.  When I try
to use the IE browser on the client I get an dns error.

Hi everyone, this problem has me really stumped and I hoep someone can
help me. Here is my setup:
1) Windows 2003 Server w/ Active Directory (\\eric-server)
2) Linux Fedora 2 Client (\\member1)

I have several dozen computers where I work.  They all get drives mapped at
login via the profile setup in AD.  This works fine on all but about 3
computers.  These mapped drives show permanently as disconnected.  If you
open the "disconnected" mapped drive it shows the contents ...

In my office I have 5 computers sharing a wired internet/dsl connection.
Can I share printers between only 2 of the computers? or would I have to
share them all.

XP Pro SP2 with Norton Internet Security 2006.
I can't start the Windows Firewall at all.  What are the dependant services
for this?  Any ideas welcome.
