I don't know what happended yesterday no problem and today when trying to get on the net my local area connection reads status limited or no connectivity speed 100.-mbps. Can anyone help this is getting frustrating cannot use system restore beyone the date of the 26th.

It seems that by using a Ethernet adapter in the PCMCIA slot has solved this problem. The jury's still out, but it has been 6-7 days and counting -knock on wood.
