I have Windows XP Home on my laptop.  I think it has a broadcom chipset
for wireless.  This has happened on both of my routers a netgear and a
belkin.   After the laptop boots or comes back from hibernation it will
connect to the network.  Then in a couple of minutes it will

When I had problems accessing internet (I have a cable modem to which
two computers are hooked through a splitter), I was asked to do
"ipconfig /renew" at the DOS prompt. It sure worked! However, it worked
only on one machine -- the one on which the command was issued.

I crashed my system and had to restore drive C. Among other things, my

I have 4 systems on a Win XP LAN.  But one system, #1, cannot be accessed by
the other three systems, although from #1 I can access (copy or see files)
the other three computers. When I try to access a shareable folder on system
#1, get this standard error message:

why is it that I see an xp p workgroup sharing folders etc yet no machine has
a password and no user names are matched acorss the network?
does this mean they are using the guest account = on?

i have been trying to make a direct connection between two computers with an

A friend’s computer runs XP/Media Center, and has Auto Update turned on.  It
connects via DSL – no router, no other computers in the house.
He says communication to the internet (using IE6) had been slowing, and has
ground to a halt.  Sure enough, it times out getting any page ...

Have a home network built around a Linksys router, with two desktops
connected (network cable) to this router.  (There's also a couple of
wireless laptops not around right now.)  Both PCs - one WinME, one XP
Home - connect through this router to the cable modem and internet just

I have read all night about 2 NIC's in one machine (win xp), but have
no luck up till now.

I want to pull the domain controller I have running at home.  But
before I do I thought I would copy my domain profile over to a local
profile so I would have the same (or close) environment afterwards.
However the copy to option is always grayed out for that user.  I have

I do material lists for a construction company and have a "network" between
my lap in the field/desktop@home.Why won't my addendums on my lap show-up on
my desktop? I've even tried giving both computers the same name. I always get

Very annoying problem when you're trying to read a page and it scrolls up or
down or very erratically !
Anyone else had this or know a solution. I did change a setting after it
first started doing it which didn't fix the problem. The setting I changed
