I have a piece of equipment controlled from a networked PC (Windows XP on a Microsoft network). The PC cannot be restarted without the equipment losing communication with the PC. The logged in user cannot be changed without the equipment losing communication. What happens now

My laptop is running Windows XP Pro, is a part of my Windows domain "mydomain", and works very well at my office. If I boot it up without any network connection, and login as my account to "mydomain", it still works very well.

I have a school computer lab that is running approximately 30 computers, 10 of them are Dell GX280's the rest are Dell Ultra Small form factor GX620's. Both are running Windows XP SP2 on a Novell network. The GX280's are at random times just losing their IP Stack.

I have problem with my network adapter on ASUS A8V Deluxe. After rebooting Windows writes the message "network cable unplugged". Only after reinstallation of drivers I have again working connection. But on next reboot the error persists.
