I'm posting this here as a "service" (pun intended) after over 20 hours and 2
days of research on how to solve the problem of the Windows XP Workstation
Service and other related items (RDR Device Driver, MRxSmb Device Driver, and
Computer Browser Service, just to name a few) ...

We are still running Novell as NOS and all workstations belong to the same
Windows workgroup.
One of the XP workstations that connected to the network is able to access
all network drives (In Novell) and connect to proxy server for Internet

I cannot get my ftp client to work. Obviously I have a port blocked but
cannot seem to find it.
Where should I start looking? I don't have a firewall nor do I see the port
blocked by windows' firewall.

I bought a new computer.  I still have the old one, which has 2
perfectly good hard drives on it.  I use a LinkSys router so that I can
go on line with my laptop.  Is there any way I can use the router to
give me access to those hard drives?

I recently rebuilt my XP OS, only to find that in the reinstallation
process XP did not detect my Graphics card. Its an old AGP 4X
NVidia Geforce4 TI-4200.
After discovering this problem, I downloaded the latest NVidia driver

Trying to install an Edimax USB print server to a home wireless network but
I get as far as this message.

Choose Print Server

Assuming I have all the proper hardware in these older and newer machine(s)
Is winXP and,  win2000 compatible for a wireless , router config?
Is winXP compatible with win98? for the same config? Thx.

I have a desktop computer that doesn't have a wireless network interface,
and a laptop that does. I normally connect the laptop to the desktop using
an Ethernet network cable, and I network between the two for printer and
file sharing using the wired infrastructure. Just recently ...

i have internet working but network can't see each other spent days help!

I am not very technically proficient, so I hope that this makes sense. I am
on a three-computer home network. Computers A and B are both Windows xp, I
think, but C is Windows 98 or so. I'm not really the one running the network,

I'm seeking to delete a work group from my  home "network" because I want to

I install  Netgear Prosafe VPN client which installed
Deterministic Network Enhancer. After reeboting my computer can't conetct to
any device on the network, can't ping any thing eather, but the computer get
the ip address from th edhcp server.

I have my two home computers networked, one wirelessly (WinXPHome) and one
with cable (WinXPPro). Is there a way of synchronizing the MyFavorites from
MSIE on both computers?
