My internet works and all, but the little icon with the two monitors with options such as "Repair Status, etc." has disappeared. I'm using a wireless receiver with installed drivers.

We seem to be having a problem with the LAN here (two systems running XPSP2 and a Linux box). I can see the othert XP box in workgroup, but get an Access Denied error if I try to browse it. My machine doesn't show up at all in the other system's workgroup listing.
