Last year I purchased a new box with XP home on it. I did a succesful upgrade
to XP Pro. Used this machine as a server for 8 months managing users, group
access - the whole thing.
Reformatted this machine, restored home and upgraded to Pro again but I am

for xp pro, my lan connects thru a trendnet router, wired, and a foundry
switch, no domain, using workgroup
3 pc's out of 6 don't fully see a 7th/server, in win explorer, the

I have the latest drivers and installed a few p2p programs. Now if i am
downloading something and the speed gets too high, my internet stops
responding. Repairing doesn't help. Only way to get back on is to disable my
network adapeter and then enable it.

I'm tryint to do too things;
1. share my printer between my laptop and desktop.
2. create a shared folder accessable between laptop and desktop.

2 machines both running WinXp home.
I have a Netgear En104 hub, both machines are connected in slots 1&2 & my
DSL connection is in slot 4 coming in from a SpeedStream Modem.
Comp 1 can see & connect to comp 2 but I can't connect comp 2 to comp 1.

I have been trying to network my Desktop and Laptop through a belkin F5d7230
router. I can now get online using both P.C.s but I am unable to get them to
talk to each other. I have tried the Network Wizard numerous times without
success. Any help would be much appreciated.

I am trying to make D drive a shared drive by right clicking choosing
properties etc but there is  no option to enable sharing for the whole of D
drive.I used to have D drive shared before i reformatted it,and cannot
remember where there is another setting that will enable it.
