Simple problem:
- 2 computers connected wirelessly using a wireless router
- Static IPs all around
- Computer A - XP Pro SP2 (192.168.1.3)

My laptop computer came with an adapter for an ethernet connection. When I
first starting using this. Everything worked just fine. But now my computer
is not even recognizing that I even have a network connection for the

I just reinstalled XP on a newly formated drive.  Before the format
the computer showed a firewire connection and an internal lan adapter.
The 1394 net adapter is what is listed now.  This doesn't sound like
either connection I have.

Whenever I get to the site that's down or can't be displayed some porn site
comes on instead of can't be displayed screen. I checked my system with
Kasperski and Ad Aware but to no avail. This applies to both Firefox and IE.
I'm usinf Windows XP SP2. Please help. Thanks.

I am using Windows XP Pro SP2. I am connected to my university LAN and my
network connection should ideally be up at all times. This is the case when I

In two ways I have needed to click the "Connect using a dial-up modem" (third
page on the New Connection Wiz) in order to use a 56kb modem or using my cell
phone as a modem.

If I am using a personal server when I lose my broadband connection, the

Anyone know why it is that my computer shows up in the My Network Places of
another pc usng the same router, but a member of a different work group?  If
I have 5 pc's, with 3 on one workgroup and 2 on another, shouldn't the 2 not
be able to see any of the pc's on the 3?

Can someone please tell me why it is when I try to download a program or
anything with Intenet Explorer 7.0, I get a message from Internet Explorer
saying "page cannot be displayed"? I believe this all started after I did the
upgrade to I.E. 7.0, but I am not sure. Or can someone ...
