How can I prevent a user from changing the computer name and changing what

I have dsl on one net card.
I have Road Runner on another net card. Both in the same computer.
Is their a way to tell the browser which connection to use..?

I am trying to make a very large TCP receive window size in Windows XP SP2.
According to Microsoft I should set following registry parameters:
Tcp1323Opts = 1 or 3

I've got both laptops connecting to the internet via the Philips
SNA6500 wireless hub, they are both on the same workgroup, but they
can't see each other - they can't even ping each other by IP address.

I want to copy some files from an XP computer to a W2k computer.  I've got
the two machines on a Router which is in turn connected to the internet.  I
am successfully working with Internet Explorer from both  machines.  Ho do I

read NTFS ... so that means I can't share folders with win 98?

I'm very much a beginner at networking, trying to help a friend. He has
5 computers running XP SP2 in a workgroup, with simple file sharing
disabled. Machines 1 and 2 are the main ones used and these both have
shared folders. All the machines have the same user account, "Joe".

I am working for a IT company and we have shared folders on many of our
desktops. I too have created a shared folder on a desktop.I am able to access
that folder on other desktops by typing "\\desktopname\shared folder" in the
run box in start menu.But  there is problem with one ...
