Starting yesterday, every time software invokes the Windows Internet Connect
dialog, the connect process times out with error 676, "the phone line is
busy."

Sometimes files I create/edit in a shared folder appear to have no
owner when accessed from other computers on the network. When this
happens, the files can be seen from the other computers, but cannot be

I have a laptop that is configured for my office domain.
I also have a home network that has a workgroup.
I would really like to be able to access the storage on other computers from

I have two computers networked through a Netgear router. They both
have XP Professional SP2. The Internet is shared fine, and I ran the
XP wizard for setting up a simple home network, and both belong to the
"MSHOME" network. I did reboot both afterwards.
