Sometimes files I create/edit in a shared folder appear to have no owner when accessed from other computers on the network. When this happens, the files can be seen from the other computers, but cannot be accessed/copied - the message that comes up is "access denied... etc.".

I replaced my failed D-Link Wireless VPN router (DI-824VU) with a D-Link DIR-625 router. Since then, the only way to see domains / workgroups in "My Network Places" is to disable the "Windows Firewall" on my XP Professional SP2 laptop.

I have two computers on the same LAN. Both of them are with WinXP SP2. I turned off the ICF on both computers but I cannot ping from computer A to B. I can ping from B to A. How can check where is the problem.

I have to restart my PC twice to be able to connect to the internet it's so frustrating. I have bought new PC but cheap rubbish (AMD with nvidia drivers). Installed XP. Sometimerestarting the PC even doesn't fix the problem I have to uninstall and re-install the nvidia drivers

I have a laptop that is configured for my office domain. I also have a home network that has a workgroup. I would really like to be able to access the storage on other computers from my laptop, but can't figure out how to do that without disabling the domain.

I have two computers networked through a Netgear router. They both have XP Professional SP2. The Internet is shared fine, and I ran the XP wizard for setting up a simple home network, and both belong to the "MSHOME" network. I did reboot both afterwards.
