when I run network diagnostics it fails on my network card because it cant
ping the IP address of the machine Im runnning the test on.  I've also
noticed that my fan runs really fast when Im using a network heavy
application like browsing or AJAX-heavy web apps.

my previous post went unanswered and I thought for sure some one could
confirm this problem or suggest something so I thought to repost.
when deleting across LAN, XP deletes without warning as if it is sending
file to recycle bin which can't be done across LAN.  win98 properly

I am having trouble with my ethernet connection. I have uninstalled and
reinstalled the device and i says 'software is installed and might not be

old network is gone, however, remaining 3 pcs in office still have old
network drives listed as network drives; they will not disconnect; i receive
an error message telling me "there is no network to disconnect" yet the drive
letter remains;

I have a 20 PC’s in my network. All connected to switch. A DSL broadband 512
Kbps (1:4) is also connected to the switch. The router is Zyxel prestige 600
series model. The ISP’s DNS server address is configured in the entire client
machines.

No software firewalls on this machine. I get an IP from the router. It just
