In a small office of several computers running winxp, when I do a ping at pc1 to pc8, the name can't be resolved. However, it can be pinged using the IP address of pc8. Is it the issue related to master browser? How can I resolve it?

Hi experts, I have setup home network on two computers connected through an EDIMAX router. But i can't find either computer from the other computer. Internet connection is just fine, so the problem is only the LAN.

Occasionally losing connection, icon in System Tray with yellow exclamation mark and "limited or no connectivity". LED's on router indicating all OK. Rebooting 3Com wireless ADSL modem/router it gets stuck at "acquiring network address".

I need to use my laptop in my office, home and client locations. Everytime I change location I need to change the Internet Explorer LAN settings and IP addresses. Is there any easy way to manage this. I have seen IBM using 'Desktop Manager' to do this. Like to know something ...

I have an Win XP computer and an IMAC G5 both connected to a Linksys WRT54G router via ethernet. The IMAC has an Epson Stylus Photo RX500 printer attached via USB. I have set up the IMAC as a one of my network places and am able to transfer files.
